Neurourology

Various neurological diseases and conditions can affect lower urinary tract function, creating a condition called neurogenic bladder dysfunction. Symptoms include the inability to urinate, urinary incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary stones, and kidney failure. Some of the conditions that can cause neurogenic bladder include multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, strokes, brain or spinal cord tumors, and herniated discs.
