On the day of your surgery, please follow these instructions:
  1. If you are a legal guardian of or have power of attorney for the patient having surgery, please bring any legal documentation you have to that effect. If you arrive without this, we may need to reschedule the surgery.
  2. Take only those medications your physician indicates you should take with a small sip of water 
  3. If you have diabetes, take your blood sugar reading. Use half your usual dose of long-acting insulin. Do not take regular insulin. 
  4. Wear loose clothing. 
  5. Leave valuables at home. Please bring your glasses, hearing aids and dentures. If your child is having surgery, bring a favorite blanket and toy. 
  6. If you are taking over-the-counter medications or supplements, you’ll be instructed on discontinuing use before surgery. Bring a list of all medications and supplements you are taking. 
  7. Bring all insurance cards and your driver's license with you. 
  8. Please arrive one hour before your scheduled procedure. Your timely arrival helps us stay on schedule. 
  9. family will be asked to wait in the front lobby. The surgeon will speak with your family immediately after surgery. 
  10. Parents of minor children are required to remain on the premises at all times. 
  11. We request no more than two persons accompany each patient.
